The “Sling” Technique for Horizontal Guided Bone Regeneration: A Retrospective Case Series
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of this retrospective case series was to present a new technique, called the “sling technique”, for massive horizontal alveolar ridge augmentation through innovative use an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (e-PTFE) membrane reduce risk biological complications related exposure. Materials and Methods: Eligible patients implant rehabilitation with bone defect were enrolled in our study. All treated GBR approach, technique” (ST), which consisted covering vestibular side stretched e-PTFE membrane. This technique allowed amplification surface as long compression immobilization underlying graft material remained (1:1 autologous bovine xenograft). placed far from surgical incision mucosa avoid infective complications. Pre- post-regenerative surgery CBCT scans used assess tissue gain amount after GBR. Results: A total 10 (4 females, 6 males; age range: 45–60 years old) study 33 implants regenerated bone. An average 4 mm achieved using ST. No exposures or registered during post-operative healing period. After 24-month follow-up, 100% survival rate observed without hard soft dehiscence. Conclusion: positioned gave satisfactory results augmentation. Considering small sample, further confirmations larger studies are needed.

Guided bone regeneration: A literature review
Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a reconstructive procedure of alveolar ridge using membranes. This procedure is indicated when there is no sufficient bone for implantation, or in the case of optimal implant installation for esthetic or functional needs. GBR can be performed before implant placement, when there is not enough bone for initial stability of implants and less predictable outcomes ...

متن کاملA novel osteogenesis technique: The expansible guided bone regeneration
Guided bone regeneration is a unique osteogenesis technique that requires a barrier membrane under periosteum to create space for bone regeneration. However, creating sizeable spaces is clinically not commonly feasible. A titanium plate and a thin silicone membrane were surgically layered on each calvaria of eight rabbits. Then, the periphery of the silicone membrane was fixed by a plastic ring...

PURPOSE The purpose of this case series was to evaluate the effect of guided bone regeneration using demineralized allogenic bone matrix with calcium sulfate. MATERIALS AND METHODS Guided bone regeneration using Demineralized Allogenic Bone Matrix with Calcium Sulfate (AlloMatrix™, Wright. USA) was performed at the time of implant placement from February 2010 to April 2010. At the time of the...
متن کاملMembranes for the Guided Bone Regeneration
Many kinds of membrane have been used for the guided bone regeneration (GBR) technique. However, most membranes do not fulfill all requirements for the ideal membrane for the GBR technique. Among them, collagen membrane has been most widely used. However, its high price and weak tensile strength in wet condition are limitations for wide clinical application. Synthetic polymers have also been us...
